Our environment has been neglected for far too long. We have witnessed the long term effects of excessive and hazardous waste which not only looks an awful sight but comes with its own environmental risks. We as residents know that unwanted and unsafe waste left on our doorsteps and thrown into our streets have attracted stench, pests and blockage of footpaths. The bulky waste charge system has directly led to a massive increase in fly-tipping without any effective enforcement. We need our voices to be heard and our issues to be resolved by the local council, from improving the state of our streets and footpaths to making better use of the "Boris Bike" cycle hire scheme.
A cleaner and greener Newham can lift the community spirit and create a safer environment in Newham.
I will take action to increase our recycling rate which is the worst in the entire country.
I will get tough on anti-social behaviour that blights our streets, especially fly-tipping, litter and dog mess.
I will invest in improving the state of our streets and footpaths.
An election campaign costs money and every penny raised locally will go directly into producing leaflets for our Newham Local Election campaign and winning votes. Whatever you may read in the press, local political parties only survive thanks to the generosity of individuals.
Please consider donating to our campaign. Every penny raised will make a big difference.
Under the Political Party Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA) you must be on the electoral register in the UK excluding the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man in order to make a donation of more than £500. If you donate more than £1,500 to the Party, we are obliged under the PPERA to report such a donation to the Electoral Commission, who will publish the fact that you have made a donation over £1,500.
